Experiment with colors by cutting a few pictures out of garden catalogs and rearranging them. There are several ways to extend your garden's bloom time. Look for flowers that bloom more than once per year, or choose different cultivars that bloom at different times during the year. You may also mail your order to Breks in the envelope provided with the catalog. Bloom time, color and size are among the most common reasons for choosing plants. You may also choose them because of fragrance, texture, or culinary value. If the sun warms the soil in the container too early, the bulb will send up shoot and flower before an adequate root system has developed.
